Vietnam trade fair - International auto expo to kick off in Hanoi

The third international automotive trade fair and conference, the Vietnam AutoExpo 2007, is set to open in Hanoi next Tuesday.

More than 130 companies have registered to showcase their products and services on nearly at the five-day event, said the organizers.

On display at the exhibition will be the latest car models from automakers such as JRD from Malaysia, Huyndai and KPI from the Republic of Korea (RoK), Lifan and Dongfeng from China, and the domestic Hoa Lam Kymco and SYM joint venture companies, as well as Nissan and Volvo.

The exhibition will also showcase components, materials, technologies and machinery for the vehicle manufacturing industry supplied by companies from Germany, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Japan, Russia, Italy, the RoK, Malaysia, Singapore and India.

Vietnam metro charms way into intl trade fair

The Vietnam Trade Ministry has appointed Ho Chi Minh City a charming city to participate in the Sino-ASEAN trade fair in Chinas Guangxi province, a ministry official announced Monday.

China and the country members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations will choose a city representing each country to form a charming group to take part in the fair, aimed at luring international investors and tourists to each city.

Ho Chi Minh City this year takes over from Vietnams capital city of Hanoi, which was last years charming entrant.

Vietnam is set to send a delegation to take part in the fair and another business group tasked with studying the market as well as scouring investment partners there.

The fair is to take up an area of 80,000 square meters with around 3000 trading stalls from different countries to participate.

The Sino-ASEAN trade fair, slated for October 31 – November 4.
